Democrat Lies To The Voters - Cuomo Reverses Himself, Won't Make His Taxes Public

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Andrew Cuomo, who is running for attorney general on a platform that includes cleaning up Albany, won't make his 2005 tax return public as his campaign had promised, a spokesman said Monday.

In April, the former federal housing secretary filed for an extension with the Internal Revenue Service. An aide to Cuomo, John Del Cecato, said at the time that Cuomo would make his taxes public when they were ready.

Cuomo, a Democrat, filed his return last month, the New York Post reported Sunday. Spokesman Evan Thies said Monday that Cuomo would not make the return public. Cuomo released estimates of his taxes in June.

This is a shell game," said his Republican opponent, Jeanine Pirro, who released her 2005 return in April. "He released documents in June that he didn't file with the IRS. And he refuses to release the documents he did file with the IRS in October.

There's only one explanation - what he released in June wasn't the truth," said Pirro, the former Westchester County district attorney.
